Where does the water go?
Connect both the supply and the drain.
Clean water arrives under pressure and branches to each fixture. Hot water first passes through a heater. After use, wastewater takes a separate downhill route to the sewer. Opening several taps shares the available supply.
Teaching cutaway: supply and wastewater are separate pipes. 22 L/min main capacity; 9 L/min fixture at 3 bar, valve-scaled sqrt pressure. Hot/cold mixing combines 12°C and 55°C water. The simplified workshop follows one fixture.
Build a clean-water path and a separate wastewater path.
Keep clean supply and wastewater on separate paths.
