Fit the components before testing.
The first ideal polarizer transmits half of unpolarized incident light. The analyzer transmits the squared projection along its axis, so crossed polarizers extinguish the ideal beam.
Ideal polarizers and unpolarized source; no leakage, spectral dependence or birefringence. Visible wire-grid spacing is enlarged as a teaching cutaway.
Transmit one quarter of the original intensity.
