Where does the heat from a fridge go?
Complete the closed refrigerant loop in physical cycle order.
The refrigerant evaporates inside the fridge, taking in heat. The compressor supplies work, and the refrigerant condenses in the outside coil, releasing heat. The outside gets the heat removed from inside plus the compressor’s electrical work.
Conceptual vapor-compression loop. Selected cooling COP gives Qcold=COP×W and Qhot=Qcold+W. Evaporation absorbs heat; condensation rejects it. Refrigerant properties, pressures and transient temperatures are not predicted.
Move heat out of the cold compartment while supplying compressor work.
Move heat outside using compressor work.
